Belgium has decided not to halt its humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories, in contrast to the European Commission and Germany, according to Caroline Gennez,

the Minister for Development Cooperation. Gennez emphasized that Belgium's assistance goes to the local population through local partners rather than directly to the Palestinian Authority or Hamas. The country will work closely with other EU member states to determine its stance on the matter. Belgium has committed to providing 70 million euros over five years.

In contrast, the European Union has suspended all payments of its development aid to the Palestinians, amounting to 691 million euros, and is re-evaluating its current programs. Germany has also temporarily suspended development aid to the Palestinian territories for review, clarifying that this suspension is not permanent but a part of the ongoing evaluation process.
